CLC optimizes its management of asset with IBM Maximo Asset Management
Santiago, May 2009. As a means of optimizing and making even more efficient their maintenance processes Las Condes Clinic became the first Chilean clinic to incorporate the prestigious IBM Maximo Asset Management software and is also the first clinic worldwide to put in place a mobile application with this platform. Eight months after their implementation the changes have been obvious. As per Mauricio González who is the head of the supply/provision department, Medical and engineering teams of the CLC, “we have been able to follow up of work and know exactly what is happening in the clinic”.
The Las Condes clinic is one of today’s institutions with the most prestige at the national level. Its large daily portfolio of clients confirms this. It is that with its three decades of expertise in the area of health, along with the fact that it recently converted itself as the first clinic in Chile to receive quality certification from the Joint Commission International, an entity which watches over for the security and quality of attention patients receive worldwide, has been, without a doubt, key factors for obtaining this position.
In a certain way, this acknowledgement was one of the primary reasons for which the institution took the decision to migrate to Maximo.
They previously had an internal maintenance system which no longer sufficed and urgently needed to be updated. And this is how last September began the implementation for which the institution also became a pioneer worldwide to implement a mobile application on the same platform.
The results have had a domino effect of a series of benefits, of key importance for the progression of the entity.
“With Maximo we have been able to order and follow up on work being done, that is, we are looking into a mirror. Before the implementation we were blind, we did not know what was happening in the institution”, assured the expert.
It is that IBM Maximo Asset Management allows for a higher efficiency in the management of assets, administering them all on one unique platform. For certain that this is a plus which makes it different from other products on the market.
As for the entity’s objectives, it is to continue working along the same line but with continuously improving the analyses. “At this moment we find ourselves in the process’ initial stage and the idea, from now on, is to obtain full advantage as possible of the tool”, indicates the specialist.
