September 10th, 2007.- With four methanol plants in the southern part of the country in the Cabo Negro area situated 28 km north of Punta Arenas, Methanex is one of the world’s principal companies in the petrochemical sector. Since 1996 it handles its asset management with MAXIMO, IBM’s integral solution for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) which is marketed and integrated by SOLEX with the support of its wholesaler Ingram Micro.. Regarding the benefits of this tool in the company’s manufacturing processes we discuss with Methanex South America IT Director Verónica Eguiguren and SOLEX’s  EVP Worldwide Sales, Eduardo Parra.

  
MAXIMO 5.2 for maintenance management at WATT’S consisted of three plants, the first being implemented December 2006 at its San Benardo plant, the second installation in May 2007 at its Osorno plant and the third in Lonquen which will soon see the light of day.   

As in every year SOLEX celebrated along with its clients on May 10th and 11th its MAXIMO User Conference. In its 11th version the event consisted of several interesting abstracts which covered such themes as the strategic maintenance implementation at Paranal Observatory, MAXIMO Implementation for Saesa, Electroandes’ maintenance management module implementation of MAXIMO, IBM Service Management – Asset and service relation and MAXIMO integration to SAP using NetWeaver XI, amongst others. The participants enjoyed their stay at the luxurious Termas hotel in Jahuel, they interchanged business cases and various experiences as well as shared their concerns as MAXIMO clients.

  
During the month of April 2007 MAXIMO 5.2 maintenance management was installed at Cristalerias Chile’s Padre Hurtado’s plant with its Llay Llay plant following soon after. One particularity to this project is that included within its implementation the TPM practices with MAXIMO   
February 27th, 2006 - MAXIMO, an Asset Maintenance and Management solution implemented by SOLEX in South America, was for the fourth consecutive year recognized as a world class tool in the EAM market according to a study by the ARC Advisory Group.
